Keeping up with the children workshop - Computers
Course Details
This course is designed to inform parents/carers about how their children are taught ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in Sandwell schools. It will help parents/carers to support their children with their ICT skills, develop their own ICT skills and improve their confidence with ICT.
The course is offered as separate workshops, where schools can select the workshops that would be most useful for their parents. Workshops can be offered in:
- Word
- Excel
- Powerpoint
- Emails
- Internet searches
- E-Safety
- Teams/Zoom
Additional workshops can be discussed.
Entry Requirements:
Learners will need to provide evidence that that they:
- Have been a resident of the UK for the past three years.
- Are aged 19 or over on 31st August 2023.

Teaching:
All learning is supportive and safe and where professional teaching is individualised to the requirements of each learner. You will be taught in a classroom situation with one to one, paired and small group work and discussion.
How will progress be monitored and assessed?
Progress will be monitored through informal observation and group discussion. You will be asked to complete a feedback form.
After completing this course?
At the end of this course learners may feel confident to progress to another SAFL course, for example an accredited ICT course.
