Course Details

This course is ideal for parents, guardians, grandparents and anyone who would like to learn basics of first aid that relates to both adults and children.

The course is designed for you to develop and practise first aid skills. You will be taught to the required standards in order to deal safely, promptly and effectively with an adult or child with injuries or illness, which occur in the home, workplace or community.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

 

You will need to provide evidence that you have any of the following:

  • Been a resident of the UK/EU for the past three years.

  • ​Aged 19+

The benefits of this course

The skills learnt will enable you to provide safe and effective first aid treatment to any person in an emergency situation before professional medical help arrives.

Teaching

You will participate in a variety of practical and theoretical activities.

How will progress be monitored and assessed?

Progression will be monitored through continual assessments via observation of practical activities and question and answer sessions. Feedback will be given verbally to each learner.

Qualification

You will receive a Sandwell MBC SAFL in house Paediatric and Adult First Aid certificate which will be valid for three years from the time of completion.

After completing this course, could I progress onto another course?

After completing this course you may wish to progress onto further first aid courses e.g. HABC Emergency First Aid at Work.

Equipment Required

It is recommended that learners wear comfortable and practical clothing.
