Course Details
This learning pathway is ideal for parents, guardians, grandparents and anyone who would like to learn the basics of first aid that relates to both adults and children.
Course Content
The course is designed to develop and practise first aid skills. You will be taught to deal safely, promptly and effectively with an adult or child with injuries or illness, which occur in the home, workplace or community.
You will also complete an online module to broaden your knowledge and skills further.
- Anaphylaxis and Autoinjectors – learn about allergic reactions and the different types of autoinjectors.

Who is the course for?
No previous first aid experience is required. This pathway is ideal for parents, guardians, grandparents and anyone who would like to learn the basics of first aid that relates to both adults and children.
How will I be taught and assessed?
Assessment will be carried out during practical and theoretical activities. Learners will be expected to be carry out physical activities and assessment including working on the floor.
How will I progress?
There may be an opportunity to progress onto our Level 3 Emergency First Aid and Work qualification. There are also opportunities to attend other SAFL courses. Please speak to your tutor for further information.
Do I need to bring my own equipment/materials?
It is recommended that learners wear comfortable and practical clothing and bring note paper and a pen. All other equipment and materials are provided.
