Course Details
This course aims to equip you with the practical skills needed to successfully offer information, advice or guidance to clients in a wide range of situations and sectors. This course is offered either through an online platform where you will work through the course materials and answer questions or taught as a classroom-based course. You will achieve a Level 2 Certificate in Information, Advice or Guidance.
The course includes 5 units:
Unit 1: Information, advice or guidance in practice
Unit 2: Developing interaction skills for information, advice or guidance
Unit 3: Signposting and referral in information, advice or guidance
Unit 4: Information, advice or guidance in context
Unit 5: Skills for advice providers
Entry Requirements
This course requires you to have a good level of ICT (Entry 3 or above) and English (Level 1 or above) in order to support achievement, progression and eventual employment. Before you can join this course, you will be required to complete an online initial assessment for English.
It is important that you are available to commit to regular independent online study or attend classes weekly.

Teaching
Classroom based: All the classes are run by a qualified and experienced tutor. Learners will attend set classes each week and experience a variety of learning activities including tutor demonstration, practical activities, role-play, group discussion and research.
There will be the opportunity to attend additional supported sessions (arranged with your tutor on need basis).
Online: Subject specialist support from a tutor via email and Teams where required. You use the workbook on the platform to learn remotely, meaning you can study at your own pace, in your own home, at a time that suits you. You would be expected to complete on average one unit every four weeks, with a commitment to 4-8 hours of studying a week.
How will progress be monitored and assessed?
Learners will complete their assessments at the end of each unit within their course. Written feedback on assessments will be provided to learners on all delivery methods using the feedback template. Assessments will be internally quality assured by the centre and externally quality assured by an external quality assurer from the relevant Awarding Organisation.
Qualifications
You will achieve a NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Information, Advice and Guidance.

The Tutor will discuss next steps towards the end of the course and suggest further courses/qualifications that may be appropriate.
