Course Details:

This course is aimed at anyone who wants to live a more independent life, progress in education and in their employment prospects. The course will cover being able to use digital skills to safely use technology in the workplace. ​

Entry Requirements:

You will need to provide evidence that you have any of the following:

  • Been a resident of the UK for the past three years.
  • Proof of immigration status
  • ​Aged 19+

​For this course, you need to have basic level ICT and English (working competently at Entry level 1/2) to support achievement, progression and potential employment.

Before you can join this course, you will be required to complete an initial interview and assessment to ensure the course is suitable, and identify that you have an adequate level of English and ICT.

It is important that learners attend all classes, as not attending reduces their ability to achieve on the course.

What are the benefits of this course?

This course will develop the digital knowledge and skills needed in most jobs today, giving the learner the basic knowledge of computer systems. 

How will I learn?

All learning is supportive and safe and where professional teaching is individualised to the requirements of each learner. Learning support will be provided by the tutor. All the classes are run by a qualified and experienced tutor.  Learners will attend one set class each week and experience a variety of learning activities. 

How will my progress be monitored and assessed?

Learning targets will be agreed with the tutor at the beginning of the course, and targets will be set for each class attended.  Regular feedback will be provided by the tutor, with all work submitted being marked with written feedback.

What qualification will I get?

You will receive an in house SAFL certificate of achievement. 

After completing this course, could I progress onto another course?

Progression: E3 Award in Essential Digital Skills.

The Tutor will discuss next steps towards the end of the course and suggest further courses/qualifications that may be appropriate.

We also have I.A.G qualified staff who could advise learners on progression and other opportunities.

Are there any additional costs?

This course is fully funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority. 

Equipment Required

A note pad and pen/pencil would be useful. Any materials needed for the course are provided by us.
