Meet Claudia - Ana

Claudia-Ana attended a Level 1 Health and Social Care Course, this is her story.

“I attended this course because I wanted to gain new skills and I wanted to change my career path. Whilst on this course I became more confident, I gained loads of knowledge and I made steps towards the career path I want. I have already started an English Level 2 course and I am looking forward to starting the maths level 2 course as well.  On 11th July 2022 I started a new job and after I finish the functional skills courses I will join the Trainee Nursing Associate course at my workplace.  This course has made a huge difference in my life as I became more confident and it gave me the strength and knowledge to follow my goals.”

Meet Loriann

When Loriann enrolled on our Functional Skills ICT course.

She wanted to improve her skills to help find new employment. At the time she was working as a care worker and was also covering admin duties with the organisation.  SAFL arranged for her to meet with a Careers Advisor at the Ron Davis Centre to help guide her in making decisions about her next steps and with help applying for jobs.  Whilst studying she also took on more admin duties which increased her confidence in her own skills.  Talking about her time with SAFL Loriann said...

“This course has made a massive difference to my life, because without gaining my Functional skills ICT level 1 & 2, I would not have been given this amazing opportunity to do a job I love.  I now work as an Assessor working with lots of different people and helping them to move on and gain qualifications.  I would like to thank my tutor Sue at the Ron Davis centre for all her help and support. "
