Course Details
This course will provide you with basic language skills to use when on holiday in Spain and other Spanish speaking destinations. Topics covered included:
- Basic greetings.
- Recognise and understand basic grammar.
- Numbers 1-100, for use with dates including your birthday, phone numbers and currency.
- Understand directions and recognise places in a town.
- Ordering food and drink.
- Recognise clothing and be able to buy them in a shop.
- Say where you’re from and talk about family.
- Say what pets you have.
- Learn colours.
- Describe your physical appearance and your personality
- Know about Spanish culture and seasonal traditions.
Entry Requirements
Any 19+ adult can join, whether you are a total beginner or need refreshing

You will be able to use the knowledge gained in class to communicate with people whilst on holiday in Spain/Spanish speaking country.
How will I learn?
By attending classes regularly and being taught by a qualified and experienced Spanish tutor.
How will my progress be monitored and assessed?
You will agree your learning targets with your tutor at the beginning of the course. Your learning will be observed and assessed during each session, you will also be provided with regular feedback by your tutor.
What qualification will I get?
This is a non-accredited course.
After completing this course, could I progress onto another course?
Yes, you can continue onto a further 10-week course in each term in order to make further progress in your Spanish learning.
Equipment required?
A notebook and pen.
*100% Concession if in receipt of Universal Credit, Job Seekers or Employment Support allowance. 50% Concession if aged 60+.
Your course fees are paid for through the West Midlands Combined Authority, which is government funding.
