Course Details

This course is a level 3 award in emergency first aid.

The course will enable you to develop and practise first aid skills to the required standards to deal safely, promptly and effectively with injuries, which occur in the workplace. 

The topics you will cover include: - Role of the first aider, accident report, first aid kits, personal safety and hygiene, primary survey, resuscitation of adult, unconscious casualty, choking, seizures, shock, wounds, bleeding  and burns.

 

Entry Requirements

You will be required to produce evidence of your current certificates demonstrating you are able to work at level 2 standards or complete an initial assessment.

You will need to provide evidence that you have any of the following:

  • Been a resident of the UK/EU for the past three years.

  • ​Aged 19+

Teaching

You will participate in a variety of practical and theoretical activities.

 

How will progress be monitored and assessed?

Progression will be monitored through continual assessments via observation of practical activities and written assessment.  Feedback will be given verbally to each learner.

Qualification

You will receive a level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF). The award will enable you to be the named first aid person in the work place.

The qualification is valid for 3 years from completion date

 

After completing this course, could I progress onto another course?

After completing this course you may wish to progress onto further first aid courses e.g. HABC First Aid at Work or Food Safety level 2

Equipment Required

It is recommended that you wear comfortable and practical clothing.

 

100% Concession if in receipt of Universal Credit, Job Seekers or Employment Support allowance.  50% Concession if aged 60+.

Your course fees are paid for through the West Midlands Combined Authority, which is government funding.
