Course Details
This programme has been designed to support you back into work. It can be accessed for 1 week, 6 weeks or 10 weeks. You will engage in a variety of workshops that cover employability skills and well-being. Experienced tutors will offer you 1-1 mentoring to support you throughout your journey. Bus tickets and lunch will be provided to increase your opportunities.
Course Content
- 1 Week Programme
- Week 1 – full time Monday to Friday 9.30 to 3pm - including a variety of face-to-face modules related to workplace skills, health and wellbeing and employment support.
- 6 Week Programme
- Week 1 – full time Monday to Friday am and pm - including a variety of face-to-face modules related to workplace skills, health and wellbeing and employment support.
- Week 2 – part time Monday to Wednesday am only - including a variety of face-to-face modules related to workplace skills, health and wellbeing and employment support. Thursday and Friday pm sessions will offer a learning zone, job club and 1-1 mentoring sessions.
- Week 3 – 6 Independent learning, Thursday and Friday pm sessions will offer a learning zone, job club and 1-1 mentoring sessions.
- 10 Week Programme

Who is the course for?
Anyone who has been long term unemployed, long-term illness or disability or a Carer. If you are looking for greater support to get into or return to work and are 19 years or above.
How will I be taught and assessed?
Learning will take place in a supportive environment, where professional teaching will be differentiated for individual learner needs. The course will be delivered using a combination of face-to-face classroom-based workshops where you will take part in one to one, paired and small group work. Independent online learning modules, one-to-one mentoring and employment support. Progression will be monitored through assessment via observation of practical activities, marking of completed work and through group discussion. The mentor will assess your learning during the sessions and will provide you with individual feedback. You will be supported to access a volunteering placement and apply for live jobs.
You will receive an in-house certificate upon completion.
How will I progress?
Your individual learning goals will be agreed at the beginning of the programme and recorded on your individual aspiration plan. The aspiration plan will be used throughout the course to assess your progress. After this course you may want to progress onto qualifications in English, Maths and ICT to further support your career progression. Alternatively, you may wish to consider an apprenticeship.
Partnership organisations will be available for signposting.
Do I need to bring my own equipment/materials?
A welcome pack will be provided on your first day of attendance, this will be inclusive of the required stationary for the course. Each full day will be supported with refreshments and lunch. Travel will be supported with day saver tickets to support travel to and from the workshops.
