Learner Case Study - Mohammed Azeem

Mohammed wanted to come back to study to improve his skills and help him with his future aspirations, these included gaining qualifications he had not got when he was younger along with wanting to get into the media as a future job, preferably in radio.

Mohammed explained:

"I have always had very good IT skills, so the digital courses were a natural first step back into education. I have passed entry 3 and level 1 and am looking forward to starting my level 2 in September.

I went to the English course as a level 1 learner, but after a few weeks of work my tutor asked if I would like to try level 2. We worked on some practice exams at level 2 and I sat my exams at that level. I have just found out that I have passed and I am delighted and pleased that my tutors at SAFL have the confidence in me."

Mohammed is blind, so he and the SAFL team, using specialist software have ensured that he is able to fully engage with the course materials and assessments.

What Next?

"I will complete my Level 2 Digital Skills and also start my journey with maths. I am hoping to find employment in media and would love to be on the radio one day."
