Sandwell Adult and Family Learning Service are recruiting part time tutors in a variety of subjects, offered on a fixed term basis until 31st July 2025 (in the first instance). Subject to continued funding this contract will be renewed annually. The contacts will be negotiated from 2 to 8 hours per week.

We are looking for creative and inspiration tutors in English, digital skills, ESOL, floristry and art, who have experience of designing and delivering short and/or introductory courses to adults who may have been out of education for some time or have English as a second language.

You will need experience planning and preparing for delivery and been teaching for 1year or more.

The provision is offered across the whole borough of Sandwell and runs daytime, evenings, and weekends at various points of the year e.g., during October when we take part in the national Family Learning Festival.

The successful applicant will be required to hold a minimum level 3 teaching qualification

A minimum qualification level 3 in the specialised teaching subject area and English and maths qualifications at least at functional skills level 2 or equivalent.

Applications are particularly welcome from tutors that have recent experience of working within other adult community learning organisations.

Sandwell Adult and Family learning would welcome applicants who have knowledge of Ofsted, SAR, moderation, standardisation, and the process of RARPA.

Sandwell Adult and Family Learning Service has 3 main learning centres across Sandwell. You will be required to travel between centres and travelling expenses can be claimed according to the SMBC approved mileage scheme.

The post offers a competitive salary of £13.02 - £14.91 per hour, pro rata (£25,119 - £28,770), and a full package of benefits from SMBC.

You will also be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check.

The closing date for applications is 20/3/24 and interviews will be carried out on 9/04/24

2-8 hours per week
