How will progress be monitored and assessed?
Marking and feedback will often happen during the class where the tutor will guide and support you to achieve your session target. Learning goals are agreed at the beginning of the course between you and your tutor; they are recorded on your individual learning plan (ILP). You will be asked to complete an individual Personal Learning Plan and reflect on your own progress each week in a Personal learning journal. Your tutor will support your learning with both written and verbal feedback on how you can progress and develop your skills on a weekly basis.
Progression will be monitored through assessment of practical activities, marking of completed work and homework will be issued and marked with guidance and feedback to help you to improve. Your tutor will let you know how the final assessment tasks fit into the course.
During and at the end of the course there is an opportunity to let us know how you feel about your experiences as a learner with SAFL. We want to know how you got on and value what you have to say.
A Sandwell adult and family learning (SAFL) certificate will be awarded at the end of the course, when you have achieved your agreed learning outcomes.
